What we collect
When you order or message us, we collect your name, phone number, delivery address or pickup town, order details, and your M-Pesa transaction code. If you email or message us, we keep that conversation. If you join drop alerts, we keep your WhatsApp number or email.
How we use it
We use your details only to make and deliver your order, confirm payment, answer your questions, send drop alerts you asked for, and keep records we need for tax and accounting. We do not sell your data.
Who we share it with
We share your name, phone number and delivery details with the rider, courier or bus company delivering your order. We use WhatsApp, M-Pesa and social platforms, which have their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for up to 7 years for accounting. Chat messages and alert contacts are kept until you ask us to delete them.
Your rights
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, and you can stop drop alerts at any time by replying “stop”. Message us using the contact details on our home page.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use tracking cookies or analytics. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
Children
Our shop is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please order with a parent or guardian.

Who we are
Gem Stitches is a handmade crochet business based in Nairobi, Kenya. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.
Orders and prices
An order is accepted only when we confirm the item, size, colour, price, delivery fee and timeline with you in writing on WhatsApp, and you pay. All prices are in Kenya shillings (KES). Prices shown on this site are starting prices and can change before you confirm.
Handmade variation
Every piece is made by hand, so small differences in size, stitch pattern and shade of colour are normal and are not faults. Colours may look different on your screen.
Limited editions
Limited edition pieces are numbered and sold on a first come, first served basis. They are never restocked or remade.
Payment, delivery, returns
Payment, delivery and returns are covered in the shipping and returns sections of our info page, and are part of these terms.
Intellectual property
All Gem Stitches designs, photos, names and text belong to us. You may not copy or sell our designs or patterns without written permission. Pieces made from fan-art or characters belonging to others are made for personal use only.
Our responsibility
We are responsible for the quality of what we make. We are not liable for loss or damage after delivery caused by misuse, poor care, or the allergies of the wearer, or for delays outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer in Kenya.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms in place when you ordered apply to your order. These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
